Paxos is the regulated financial institution that issues USDG. Founded in 2012, Paxos operates under regulatory oversight and issues fully backed digital assets. USDG is issued with reserves held in cash and cash equivalents, with regular attestations.
USDG maintains its $1 peg through fully backed reserves held by Paxos. Each USDG in circulation is backed by equivalent US dollar deposits and short-term US government securities, and is redeemable one to one.
Robinhood Chain is a permissionless Ethereum Layer 2 built on Arbitrum technology, designed for tokenized real-world assets like stocks and ETFs. USDG is the working dollar of the chain: its markets settle in it, which makes USDG the asset to hold if you want to participate in tokenized markets there.
USDG is used to buy tokenized real-world assets on Robinhood Chain, to hold dollar value onchain with a regulated issuer, and to move in and out of the chain's markets without touching a bank rail.
Garden uses Hashed Timelock Contracts (HTLCs) and an intents-based solver network to enable atomic cross-chain swaps.
You receive your asset directly without derivatives or wrapped tokens.
Either both sides of the swap complete, or your asset is refunded.
Solvers fill your swap request at the best execution path across liquidity sources.
Transaction time depends on Bitcoin confirmation time. Most swaps complete within 10 minutes, since the swap waits on one Bitcoin confirmation.
Yes. Garden uses Hash Time-Locked Contracts (HTLCs) for atomic settlement. Your BTC is locked in an HTLC contract until a solver locks USDG on Robinhood Chain into the HTLC. If the solver fails to deliver within the timelock, your BTC is automatically refunded. Our HTLC breakdown shows exactly how this works.
Robinhood Chain is a permissionless Ethereum Layer 2 built on Arbitrum technology, launched by Robinhood in July 2026 and designed for tokenized real-world assets like stocks and ETFs. Its markets settle in USDG. We cover the chain and every way into it in our Robinhood Chain guide.
Yes. Garden supports swapping USDC and USDT from supported chains directly into USDG on Robinhood Chain. If you are holding dollars in another stablecoin, you can move them into the global dollar in one swap, no exchange in between.
Yes. Select USDG on Robinhood Chain as the send asset and any supported asset on any supported chain as the receive asset in the Garden app, including back to native BTC, SOL, WBTC, USDC, or USDT. The same atomic swap mechanism works in both directions.
