  • Minting and burning WBTC involves interacting with audited Ethereum contracts that log supply changes transparently.

  • Custodian BTC addresses and Ethereum smart contracts are fully auditable in real time.

  • Governance is handled by WBTC DAO, consisting of custodians, merchants, and ecosystem members. They vote on protocol changes, new members, and operational policies.

  • BTC reserves are secured with multi-signature schemes, reducing single-entity control and risk of theft.
